Britney Spears Supports Former Manager On TV Show

Britney Spears surprised the contestants of new MTV reality show Rock The Cradle by turning up for the season finale - in support of her former manager Larry Rudolph.

Rudolph is a judge on the hit program, which sees aspiring pop stars, who have musician parents, compete for their own place in the spotlight.

And Spears - who shot to fame under Rudolph's management - paid an impromptu visit to the Los Angeles set on Thursday to wish her former mentor well, watching the live show from backstage.

Rudolph tells Usmagazine.com, "She was here to support the show. I mentioned to her that I was going to my show. She said, 'I want to come down.' She loved it. She really loved it. She didn't come here for publicity or anything like that. She came here because she wanted to see the show, which I appreciated."

Notorious B.I.G.'S Family Allowed To Proceed With Lawsuit

A federal judge has reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit brought against Los Angeles city officials by the family of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. - five months after the case was originally thrown out of court.

In December, U.S. District Judge Florence Marie Cooper ruled the rap star's family members did not file a claim against the city and a disgraced Los Angeles cop, believed to be involved with the 1997 murder, by an agreed deadline.

The lawsuit alleged a former police detective and two partners were responsible for the drive-by shooting death of the rapper - real name Christopher Wallace.

But, according to court papers revealed on Thursday, the Wallace family successfully appealed, and now Cooper is giving them another chance to file a new lawsuit - as long as the paperwork is completed within 20 days.

This is the second time the Wallaces have tried to hold L.A. authorities to account for B.I.G.'s untimely demise - a judge declared a mistrial in a 2002 wrongful death case after learning Los Angeles police officials had withheld evidence.

The 24-year-old's death remains unsolved.

13-Year-Old My Chemical Romance Fan Hangs Herself

The goth-like emo music trend has been hit with a new controversy - a 13-year-old devotee of the movement has hanged herself, reportedly to impress fans of bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance.

The emo movement hit headlines recently after fans were targeted in South America and bullied and tormented for their all-black fashion sense and music taste.

And now Hannah Bond's bedroom suicide has sparked controversy in Britain. The teenager, who called herself Living Disaster, hanged herself from a bunk bed in her bedroom, after telling her parents she was going to kill herself.

At her inquest, coroner Roger Sykes admitted he found elements of the emo movement "very disturbing", according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The inquest was told Bond was an avid fan of My Chemical Romance and spent hours in online chat rooms talking about her musical obsession and thoughts of suicide.

Bond told online friends of her plans to hang herself and live on in the afterlife as a member of "the black parade" - the title of My Chemical Romance's last album.

Alicia Keys helped raise a small fortune for the Keep a Child Alive charity during her concert in Los Angeles on Monday night - by asking fans to text the organization.

Concertgoers like Britney Spears and Nick Lachey were urged to take out their cellphones and text the word 'Alive' to the number 90999.

Key told fans the correspondence would result in a donation of $5 per text to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.
